Day 5: Xbox

That's what I call my friend Megan.  Listen to the CeeLo Green song. She's my Xbox, I'm her Atari...it just works.  We don't ask questions.

I knew she was something special when she agreed to go out for my birthday extravaganza in the Twin Cities.  Pretty much everyone backed out on that night..so what started as an AWESOME night on the town...turned into something I wish I hadn't taken a day off for.  But Megan didn't back out.  She stayed the course...and I hardly knew her.  Sure, we work together...but she hasn't been with the company that long, and as it stands...she works in an office 45 minutes away.

But she didn't back out.

We had fun!  Shopping, eating, drinking, dancing on a box in a gay bar, and trying on ridiculous clothes...

She even went along with my wacky story that I had a child named Allejandro, so we could get the free Holidazzle Goody Bag at the Hotel.  Pretty awesome.

It didn't take long for me to learn that I liked the girl.  She was like my other half in another human being.  We just get each other...and I love that.  It's like having a little piece of Michigan in Minnesota -- but she has WAY too funky of an accent to be from Michigan (I'm just sayin').

I'm grateful for her.  I feel like I've known her for years (when I haven't).  She makes my work day more exciting (sometimes we gossip from our office hiding spots).  And I talked to her today for ONE HOUR AND NINE MINUTES on the phone (without getting bored).  Oh, and she laughs at my jokes...which is pretty much essential to being my friend.

Megan Matthews...my bestie...my Xbox...

I'm thankful for you :)
