There's nothing that boy wouldn't do. Seriously. He works harder than anyone I know...and a lot of times he does it because he WANTS to, not because he's ASKED to. That's remarkable...no really, it is.
You know how they say "less is more"? Well, that really isn't Chad's news philosophy. From the moment he gets in til the moment that boy leaves, he's running around like a mad man. He shoots enough PKG video to cover a documentary, goes out and picks up VOs and VO/SOTs on his own without complaint, helps Jill import/chop up her video, shoots a million sports games all over the market, and, no matter where he is in the building, he has some sorta creepy sixth sense about the scanner...and chases down the squeaks and beeps no matter what time it is, no matter what he's doing, no matter what else is on his plate, no matter if it's 10:30 and he's walking out the door.
He has a drive unlike anything I've seen...and he's so remarkable at what he does. Add in the fact that he had no formal training or schooling for the work he does, and you're blown away even more.
He helped me today when I was in a pinch. In between going out and shooting with Jill, shooting liveshots at 5 and 6, shooting/editing 3 sporting events, and then another liveshot at 10...he found time to drive back out to Byron to pick up a measley interview for me. He didn't have to do it...but if he didn't, I wouldn't have made my deadline.
He's always there for you -- doing whatever it takes to give us the best newscasts possible...and for that, I'm entirely thankful.
